Building Boulder Valley Model’s “Tin Chicken Rail Truck”. Though Dallas recommends painting before gluing, I glued parts prior to painting. I’m thinking of a color scheme. There are good photos of Tin Chicken in Gallery page of BVM site.
I have just finished painting and weathering my Gas-mechanical loco. Detailng parts are from a Backwoods kit.
I’m adding detail parts of [Bachwoods Miniatures](http://www.backwoodsminiatures.com/) to an On30 gas-mechanical loco of Bachmann. A test assembled loco prior to painting is shown below.

A Tenshodo Spud 24.5mm is used for a power truck. The coupler is Kadee #47. It looks good with Bachmann’s Wood Side Dump Cars. It runs on my micro layout’s tight curve of 140R.

I’m building an On30 Steam Tram. I bought an Avalon kit from Pepper7. I’m inspired by a photo of the tram on the web site. I modified the frame to accept a Kadee coupler.

I took a photo of my On30 cars to compare the size. From left to right: Bachmann Shay, Porter, Chivers Way Car, BVM Buck Jimmy Car, Center Cab Midget, and Flat Car. The size of the Way Car or Buck Jimmy matches to Porter. The Flat Car matches to the Center Cab.

Center Cab Gasoline Loco of Boulder Valley Models. Fukushima Model’s headlight parts for HO ED-22 are used on top of the roof. A 10g weight for R/C models is attached under the frame.
I like On30 because the size of the model is just right for assembling kit and handling. I’d like to build passenger cars and freight cars to fit this loco.

On30 Way Car of the Chivers Finelies kit. The blue of the body is a color of the old passenger car of Japan National Railroad.

I’m building Chivers Finelines On30 Tank Car. My model is not painted yet.
The structure of the truck is improved from the previous version. It is easier to assemble.
I think the tank car is good for a small layout.
